Carradice Barley Saddlebag (9L) - Field Green

Carradice Barley is a versatile favorite in the Carradice Originals range and a very useful saddlebag for long gravel rides, light bikepacking, touring, all-day rides, and commuting. Its compact 9-liter capacity provides plenty of room for tools, an extra layer of clothing, food, and other things you want to bring along for the day, while keeping the bag streamlined and low-profile under the saddle.

The bag is made from heavy-duty 18 oz waxed cotton canvas with self-sealing seams, providing reliable protection from rain and mud spray on rough roads. The material can be rewaxed and repaired over time, so the Barley is built to last for many years rather than just a few seasons. Field Green is paired with burgundy leather details and brown straps for Carradice’s distinctive touring look.

The Barley attaches to the saddle’s bag loops with leather straps and is stabilized against the seatpost. If your saddle doesn’t have bag loops, you can add Carradice Saddle Loops, which mount to the saddle rails, or use the Bagman Quick Release Clamp if you want to remove and reattach the bag more quickly. For better support with heavier loads, rough gravel, and longer rides, the Barley also works with Carradice Bagman supports.

It’s the size that makes the Barley so easy to live with. It holds considerably more than a small saddlebag for a tube and tools, yet is still much more compact than Carradice’s larger Longflap and touring models. A great choice when you want a traditional saddlebag with enough room for a full day on the bike, without building your entire setup around a larger bag.
