Belldorado J-Bar is a cycling cap with considerably more history than first meets the eye. The design is based on koinobori—the Japanese carp streamers—and J-Bar, a Japanese izakaya in Munich where Belldorado’s founder once worked. The result is a cap that feels more like a small piece of cycling culture than yet another logo on a brim.
The artwork is hand-drawn and based on J-Bar’s original signage and motto. The white, navy blue and red color scheme draws inspiration from traditional Japanese tenugui towels, while the carp design runs across the cap’s panels and continues around the sides. The J-Bar name sits at the back, and the text also appears under the folded brim—exactly the kind of details that make Belldorado’s caps fun even when the bike is at home.
The cap has a classic three-panel construction and is sewn from a blend of polyester and cotton. The elastic edge provides a comfortable fit, and the 56–59 cm size works for most people. It is thin enough to wear under a helmet, but works just as well on its own before or after a ride.
Belldorado designs its cycling caps in Munich and has Apis in Italy sew and screen-print them. J-Bar is a great example of why we like the brand: a small, nerdy design with a real story behind it, made for people who appreciate cycling clothing with a little personality.

Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
