Brooks B17 Special Titanium - Honey

The Brooks B17 Special Titanium is a bike saddle for anyone looking for a lighter, more premium leather saddle. It has the same shape that made the B17 Brooks’ best-known touring saddle, but comes with titanium rails and frame, plus hand-hammered copper rivets. The result is a B17 weighing around 410 grams - just over 100 grams lighter than the standard model with steel rails.

The vegetable-tanned leather is stretched over the frame and flexes naturally as you ride. Unlike a padded saddle, the leather gradually molds to you and becomes more personal the more you use it. This also means a B17 needs a little time to break in fully. The Honey color develops a distinct patina over the years, which is a big part of the charm of a Brooks leather saddle.

At 175 mm wide, the B17 is designed for a less aggressive riding position than narrower road and track saddles. It’s especially well suited to touring, long-distance rides, gravel, and bikes you spend many hours riding. Our general tip is to set the handlebars roughly level with the saddle or higher for a riding position that works well with the shape of the B17.

The Special Titanium differs from standard B17 models mainly in its titanium frame and hand-hammered copper rivets. You get to keep the classic B17 shape and the way the leather molds to the rider, but in a significantly lighter version with details that age beautifully too.
