Dia-Compe Hand Rest HR07 Dummy Levers (pair)

The Dia-Compe HR07 Hand Rest is a pair of “dummy levers” for drop handlebars - brake levers without a braking function that instead give your hands an extra, significantly more comfortable position on the handlebars. If you ride a brakeless fixed gear with drop handlebars, the ergonomics can otherwise suffer on longer rides, resulting in strain on your hands and wrists.

The HR07 mounts like traditional road bike levers and gives you a natural position on top of the hoods, allowing you to vary your grip instead of keeping your hands on the tops or in the drops all the time. Dia-Compe originally developed them as hand rests for tandem bikes, but the design makes them equally interesting for brakeless fixed gear and other minimalist builds where no braking function is needed.

The mount is made of cast aluminum, with a black resin handle and anatomically shaped rubber hoods. They are sold as a pair and weigh 204 grams - a rather unusual component, but a very practical solution for anyone who likes the appearance and different hand positions of traditional road bike levers without actually needing brake levers.
