René Herse

René Herse: French tradition meets Japanese precision

René Herse combines classic French randonneur heritage with modern research into rolling resistance and comfort.

The brand is now owned by Jan Heine, who has shown through thorough testing that wide, supple tires are often faster than narrow, hard ones. The tires are made in Japan by Panaracer and are known for their extremely supple casings - from the robust Standard to the featherlight Extralight. This construction allows the tire to absorb bumps rather than vibrate, saving energy for the cyclist. The higher price reflects the use of high-quality natural rubber and technical fabrics optimized for a smoother ride and lower rolling resistance.
