About Urban Bike Wear & The Mechanics

UrbanBikeWear.com started in December 2012 in Johan’s living room with a small selection of cycling clothing and bags for bicycle commuting. From the beginning, UBW’s concept has been to carefully select from the vast market and find brands with plenty of character. Our ambition is to be your specialist bike shop, where you can feel confident that the range has been selected especially for you. Urban Bike Wear also brought the Bicycle Film Festival to Stockholm in 2013 at Debaser Medis and in 2014 to Arktes. As part of the 2013 festival, we also organized Stockholm Cykelfest at Medborgarplatsen, Björns trädgård, Åsötorget, and Debaser Medis, an event with more than 3,000 visitors.

Today we offer a wide range of cycling clothing and bags from Chrome Industries, Bagaboo, Endura, Swrve, and more. These are brands that meet our quality requirements and are used by high-performance cyclists around the world.

Our focus areas are Fixed gear, single, Road, Gravel, and Bikepacking. The latter is a segment we are especially fond of, and we are happy to help you find the right bike, bags, or equipment for your Bikepacking adventure. For urban fixed-gear and single cyclists, we have many messenger bags and stylish clothes that can withstand heavy use.

When we opened our physical bike shop, ”Urban Bike Wear & The Mechanics”, in 2015, we began working with bicycle manufacturers such as Cinelli, Genesis Bikes, Brother Cycles, Surly, Bombtrack, Salsa, and others. Both because of their approach to quality and their focus on making cycling fun. At Tjärhovsgatan 14, we also had more space, so we began importing Chris King, Runwell, Izumi, Vision, Nitto, MKS, Restrap, Dia-Compe, Velo Orange, White Industres, and other more niche brands that we love.
