About Urban Bike Wear & The Mechanics
UrbanBikeWear.com started in 2013 in Johan's living room with a small selection of cycling clothes and bags for bike commuting. From the beginning, UBW's concept has been to carefully select from the large market and find brands with a lot of soul. Our ambition is to be your niche bike shop where you can feel confident that the assortment is chosen just for you.
Today we have a wide range of cycling clothes and bags from Chrome Industries, Bagaboo, Endura, Vaude, Swrve, and more. Brands that meet our quality standards and are used by high-performing cyclists worldwide.
Our focus areas are Fixed gear, single speed, Road, Gravel, and Bikepacking. The latter is a segment we are especially fond of, and we are happy to help you find the right bike, bags, or equipment for your bikepacking adventure. For the urban fixed hub and single speed cyclist, we have many messenger bags and stylish clothes that withstand heavy wear.
When we opened our physical bike shop “Urban Bike Wear & The Mechanics” in 2015, we began working with bike manufacturers such as Cinelli, Genesis Bikes, Brother Cycles, Surly, Bombtrack, Salsa, and more. Both for their commitment to quality and their focus on making cycling fun. At Tjärhovsgatan 14, we also gained more space, so we started importing Chris King, Runwell, Izumi, Vision, Nitto, HED wheels, Apidura, Restrap, and other more niche brands that we love.
