Avid Shorty Ultimate is a high-quality cantilever brake set for cyclocross, touring, randonneuring, and gravel. It fits frames and forks with traditional cantilever mounts and is designed for riders who want low weight, strong braking, and plenty of adjustability.
The brake arms can be set in two positions. Narrow provides higher mechanical advantage and more braking power, while Wide provides more clearance around the tire and rim. The straddle cable has integrated cable adjustment and a quick release, and the cartridge brake pads can be adjusted for both height and angle.
Shorty Ultimate uses short pull, so it works with traditional road levers and other brake levers for cantilever brakes. It should not be paired with standard V-brake levers with long pull.
This is a complete set for the front and rear wheels and an excellent choice when you want to get more performance from a classic cantilever setup.
