BLB Narrow Wide 130 BCD 3/32" 1x Chainring

Do you have an older bike with a geared drivetrain and a classic 5-arm crankset with 130 BCD? The BLB Narrow Wide is a smart way to convert it to 1x without replacing parts that still work. It works especially well when restomodding a '90s steel MTB, converting an older road or touring bike, or giving a classic commuter a simpler drivetrain - while keeping the crank arms and the bike's original character.

The chainring has a 130 mm BCD and a narrow-wide profile, with alternating wide and narrow teeth that follow the chain's inner and outer links. This helps keep the chain in place when the front derailleur and second chainring are removed. You get a cleaner 1x drivetrain with fewer parts and can keep using a good crankset that may already have been on the bike for thirty years.

The 130 BCD makes this chainring a good option for many older 5-arm cranksets from road, touring, and hybrid bikes, as well as some older MTBs. The important thing is to check both the bolt circle and the chain before ordering. The chainring is 3/32" and should not be confused with a wide 1/8" chainring for traditional fixed gear or single speed.

The BLB Narrow Wide is available with 40 or 42 teeth. The 40T gives you a slightly easier gear ratio and works well when the bike needs to handle hillier riding, while the 42T gives you a slightly higher gear ratio for the road and faster riding. This chainring is mainly for those who see no reason to replace a good older crankset just because they want to ride 1x - keep what works and build from there.
