Brooks Proofide Saddle Waterproofing 30 ml

A Brooks leather saddle is made to last, but the leather needs a little care to retain its suppleness and resist moisture. Brooks Proofide is the leather dressing Brooks recommends for its leather saddles, and is used both on a new saddle during the break-in period and for regular maintenance after the saddle has seen a few years and many miles.

Apply a thin layer of Proofide to the top of the leather and let it soak in before polishing off any excess with a soft cloth. A thin layer can be left on the underside to provide extra protection against dirt and moisture. Use sparingly - too much Proofide can make the leather unnecessarily soft - and never apply it to a wet saddle.

On a new Brooks leather saddle, Proofide helps the leather become more supple during the break-in period. After that, it is usually enough to treat the saddle every few months. So this is not something to apply after every rainy ride, but a simple part of the long-term maintenance of a Brooks B17, Team Pro, Swift, Flyer or any of the brand's other traditional leather saddles.
