The Cane Creek 40 is a tapered headset for frames with a 44 mm head tube and forks with tapered steerer tubes. The ZS44/28.6/H8 combination on top and EC44/40 on the bottom fits, among others, Brother Cycles Mehteh, Stroma, and Big Bro.
ZS44 means that the upper bearing cup is pressed into the frame and mostly sits inside the head tube. EC44 means that the lower bearing cup sits outside the frame. This combination allows the use of a tapered fork with a 28.6 mm steerer tube on top and a 40 mm crown race seat on the bottom in a frame with a 44 mm head tube.
The Cane Creek 40 features aluminum cups and sealed, replaceable cartridge bearings. The headset comes with a top cap, star nut, and bolt.
Check that your frame requires ZS44/28.6 on top and EC44/40 on the bottom before ordering. The bearing cups should be installed with a headset press.

Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
