Chris King NoThreadSet Headset 1-1/8" - Sotto Voce 3D Violet

The Chris King NoThreadSet 1 1/8" is the classic external headset for frames with an EC34 head tube and a straight 1 1/8" fork. The standard is EC34/28.6 at the top and EC34/30 at the bottom - a simple, proven design still used on countless touring, gravel, MTB and custom builds.

The NoThreadSet is one of the components that built Chris King's reputation. The bearings are made by Chris King themselves in Portland and are fully serviceable, so they can be opened, cleaned and greased instead of being treated as disposable. The 1 1/8" version also uses Chris King's GripLock system to maintain the correct bearing preload, even when the bike is put through its paces.

This version comes in high-gloss 3D Violet with understated Sotto Voce branding. The color was introduced back in 1988 and was Chris King's first true anodized color after black and silver. A rather special headset for anyone looking for Chris King 1 1/8", EC34 and a color that's hard to confuse with anything else.
