Chrome Folsom Short 2.0

Chrome Folsom Short 2.0 is a pair of cycling shorts for anyone looking for something that works just as well on the bike as it does for the rest of the day. We’ve commuted in Folsoms ourselves on both fixed gear and single speed bikes, and it’s still hard to find better shorts for that kind of use. They look like regular shorts, but their construction is designed for long hours in the saddle.

The Everest fabric is a durable four-way stretch that gives you plenty of freedom of movement while pedaling. It also has a quick-drying, water-repellent DWR finish for light rain and splashes. The crotch is seamless and reinforced with a double layer of fabric to reduce chafing against the saddle and withstand the wear and tear of frequent cycling. The seams and belt loops are reinforced, too, to hold up over many seasons of use.

The Folsom has a six-panel construction and four pockets. The rear pockets are floating pockets with flat seams, reducing the amount of fabric and seams between you and the saddle. At the waist, there’s Chrome’s classic U-lock holder made from heavy-duty webbing, so you can carry a U-lock without putting it in your backpack or waistband. A reflective detail on the back adds a little extra visibility when light hits it.

With an 11" inseam and athletic fit, the Folsom is shorter and more fitted than the Chrome Union 2.0. The Union has a longer, roomier baggy fit, while the Folsom is a better choice if you want a more streamlined pair of cycling shorts that end just above the knee and feel just as natural on your commute as they do on longer rides around town.

It’s this balance between cycling functionality and everyday clothing that makes the Folsom so good. No built-in padding, no overtly MTB look, and nothing that forces you to change when you arrive - just a pair of durable shorts built for cycling.
