Chrome Industries Barrage Session Bike Backpack

“Do a kickflip!” The Chrome Barrage Session is a waterproof cycling backpack built on the classic Barrage platform, but adapted for those who also want to carry a skateboard. Instead of the standard cargo net on the Barrage model, the Session uses a 3-Flap Carry System that holds the board securely against the backpack when you cycle to work, into town, or to the skatepark.

Like the previous Barrage generation, the Session is built around a welded, waterproof inner liner and a rolltop closure that helps keep the contents dry when the weather turns bad. The heavy-duty nylon outer fabric is made to withstand hard use, and the construction with a separate liner and durable outer shell is typical of Chrome – built for the city, bike commuting, and years of everyday wear.

The 3-Flap system consists of two large front flaps and a lower pocket that together hold the skateboard in place. When you’re not carrying a board, the system lies relatively flat against the bag, and the compression straps can be used to keep the load tighter. There are also external pockets on the sides for things you want to reach quickly.

Capacity is around 18–22 liters, depending on how much you use the rolltop, which is about right for a typical day in the city. Inside, there’s a laptop pocket that fits a 15" MacBook Pro, while ergonomic shoulder straps, a molded back panel, and Chrome’s mini-buckle across the chest help the bag stay more secure when you’re cycling with a little more weight.
