Some bike parts are chosen not to be seen. Cinelli Mike Giant Art Tape is not one of them. This bar tape combines Cinelli’s fixed-gear DNA with graphics drawn exclusively by American artist Mike Giant, known for graffiti, tattoo art, and skateboarding culture.
Cinelli and Mike Giant began collaborating in California in 2008, right in the midst of the new fixed-gear culture’s international breakthrough. The result was a series of cycling products featuring Giant’s distinctive line graphics and clear references to classic tattoo art.
The bar tape has a 2 mm PU base with a velvet-like surface and provides a relatively slim grip on drop handlebars. If you are looking for maximum cushioning, thicker alternatives are available—but here, it is the combination of grip, graphics, and Cinelli’s cycling-cultural history that makes it special.
Bar-end plugs with Mike Giant motifs and finishing tape are included. We personally prefer regular electrical tape for finishing, as it is easy to stretch, secure, and replace.
