Continental Gatorskin is one of the bicycle tires we’re happy to recommend for city riding, commuting, and fixed gear. It is built with durability and puncture protection high on the priority list—qualities that become especially valuable when the bike is used frequently and you would rather not be left by the roadside with a flat tire.
Gatorskin uses two complementary protective features. DuraSkin reinforces the tire’s sidewalls with a durable polyamide fabric that helps protect against cuts and wear. Beneath the tread sits the Continental PolyX Breaker, a tightly woven layer that makes it more difficult for glass, gravel, and other sharp objects to penetrate the tire and reach the inner tube.
The folding construction keeps the weight down compared with equivalent tires with a wire bead. Gatorskin is the bicycle tire for those who ride every day and want a tire that can handle many miles.
For fixed gear and fast urban cycling, that combination is hard to overlook. A rear tire often has a fairly tough life, and Gatorskin’s durable construction makes it a good choice when longevity and fewer punctures matter more than saving the last few grams.

Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
