Continental Gatorskin - Foldable

Continental Gatorskin is one of the bicycle tires we’re happy to recommend for city riding, commuting, and fixed gear. It’s built with durability and puncture protection high on the priority list - qualities that become especially valuable when you ride a lot and would rather not find yourself at the roadside with a flat.

Gatorskin uses two complementary forms of protection. DuraSkin reinforces the tire’s sidewalls with a durable polyamide fabric that helps protect against cuts and wear. Beneath the tread is Continental PolyX Breaker, a tightly woven layer that makes it harder for glass, gravel, and other sharp objects to penetrate the tire and reach the inner tube.

The folding construction keeps the weight down compared with equivalent tires with a wire bead. Gatorskin is the tire for you if you ride every day and want a tire that can handle many miles.

For fixed gear and fast city riding, that combination is hard to overlook. A rear tire often has a pretty tough life, and Gatorskin’s durable construction makes it a good choice when durability and fewer punctures matter more than saving the last few grams.
