Dia-Compe A-head Star Nut is a star nut for 1-inch threadless steel or aluminum steerer tubes. It is used together with a top cap and bolt to adjust headset preload before tightening the stem.
This size is primarily relevant for older and more classic bikes with 1-inch Ahead systems. Check the steerer tube dimensions before purchase, as older forks may differ.
The star nut must not be used in carbon-fiber steerer tubes. An expander plug is normally used instead.
