Dia-Compe BA85 Short V-Brake - Black

Dia-Compe BA85 is a short V-brake with 85 mm brake arms for those who want more braking power without switching to a traditional long V-brake. The shorter design makes the BA85 particularly interesting for touring, cyclocross, and gravel builds with cantilever mounts, where you want to use short-pull brake levers. If you’ve given up hope on rim brakes, the BA85 might surprise you—and it certainly looks cool.

The brake features cold-forged aluminum arms, linear springs, and individual spring-tension adjustment on both sides. This makes it easy to center the brake and achieve an even gap between the brake pads and the rim. Dia-Compe 980 brake pads are included.

The BA85 can be mounted both front and rear. Just remember to turn the brake pads the correct way depending on the position. With its 85 mm arms, it works with short-pull levers for cantilever and road brakes, unlike regular full-size V-brakes, which normally require long pull.
