Dia-Compe EVO-V V-Brake/Long Pull Road Levers - Brown/Silver

Dia-Compe EVO-V is a pair of brake levers for drop bars and V-brakes. It’s an unusual but very useful combination if you want to build a touring bike, randonneur, gravel bike, or another drop-bar bike with V-brakes.

Standard brake levers for drop bars are usually designed for short pull, so they don’t work properly with traditional V-brakes. EVO-V levers, however, are specifically designed for the long pull required by V-brakes and provide the cable travel needed for the brakes to work as intended.

The levers feature forged aluminum blades, Dia-Compe’s BRS return spring, and adjustable reach. Using a 2 mm hex key, you can adjust how far the brake lever sits from the handlebar and tailor the fit to your hands and riding position.

The brown rubber hoods and silver brake levers give the EVO-V a distinctly classic look. They’re especially well suited to touring and randonneur builds where you want to combine drop bars and V-brakes with components that don’t look like modern integrated shift levers.

EVO-V levers fit drop bars with a 23.8 mm diameter at the brake lever clamp and come as a complete pair for the front and rear brakes.

Compatibility and installation

Dia-Compe EVO-V are long-pull brake levers designed for V-brakes. They should not be confused with standard brake levers for road brakes, cantilever brakes, or other brakes that require short pull.

Check both the brake type and handlebar diameter before purchasing. The fact that a brake lever fits a drop bar does not automatically mean its cable pull is right for the brake.
