Dia-Compe MX-2 Lo-Pro V-Brake
Available in stock
Dia-Compe MX-2 Lo-Pro is an old-school V-brake with clear roots in the 1990s MTB and BMX era. It works just as well on a retro mountain bike and 26-inch commuter as it does on a custom build where classic components and the right aesthetic are part of the whole.
The low profile gives the brake a clean and compact appearance, while the linear V-brake design provides good braking power and easy adjustment. The brake arms are made from cold-forged aluminum and feature individual spring-tension adjustment, making it easier to center the brake against the rim.
MX-2 Lo-Pro comes with Dia-Compe S-pads and mounts to standard V-brake bosses. The brake is intended for use with long-pull brake levers for V-brakes.
The front and rear versions are essentially the same brake. The difference lies in how the brake pads are mounted, and their direction can easily be changed during installation. So, for example, if we only have the front version in stock, it can also be used on the rear by turning the brake pads the right way.
A classic Dia-Compe V-brake for anyone building a retro MTB, BMX, or everyday bike who wants simple technology, reliable function, and exactly the right amount of 1990s character.
