Paul Component Thumbie makes it possible to use a Shimano bar-end shifter as a thumb shifter on a flat handlebar. It is a simple and highly reliable solution for touring, gravel, and other builds where you want to combine modern flatbars with classic friction or indexed shifters.
This left-hand version is intended for the front derailleur and has a 22.2 mm clamp diameter for standard flatbars and riser bars. Thumbie fits Shimano bar-end shifters and many of Shimano’s older downtube-mounted shifters. The hinged clamp makes the adapter easy to install without having to remove grips or other components from the handlebar.
Thumbie is CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum and made in the USA by Paul Component. A thoughtfully designed little component for anyone building a robust touring or gravel bike and preferring simple mechanics over more complicated shifting systems.
