Beautiful quick releases are hard to come by these days. Fortunately, Velo Orange makes a pair that resemble the old Simplex shifters, the maker of the most stylish friction shifters. The quick releases work with 100 mm (front), 130 mm, and 135 mm (rear) hub widths. If you use the rear quick release on a 130 mm frame, you can easily file off the excess.
The axles are, as expected, made of steel, but you’ll also find brass details for durability and pure beauty.
