Brooks B17 Standard - Black

The Brooks B17 has been the brand’s best-selling saddle for over 100 years and is a classic leather saddle for commuting, gravel, road cycling, and long-distance touring. The 175 mm-wide shape is designed for a moderately forward-leaning riding position of around 60°, and the tensioned leather construction works almost like a hammock, flexing with your body and helping to dampen vibrations from the road surface.

The saddle is handmade in England from 100% vegetable-tanned leather. Unlike a synthetic saddle, the B17 needs time: the leather gradually moulds to your anatomy while developing the patina that is such a defining part of Brooks saddles’ character. Steel rails, a steel frame, and steel rivets make the B17 Standard the robust base model in the range.

The B17 is for you if you prioritise comfort and long service life over low weight and want a saddle for many hours in the saddle. It requires a little more care and break-in time than Brooks Cambium models, but for touring, commuting, and longer rides, it remains one of Brooks’ most proven designs.
