Carradice Bagman Expedition Saddlebag Support Rack (Standard)

A large Carradice saddlebag provides plenty of storage space without a traditional rear rack, but with a heavier load, the bag can start to sway and lose its shape. The Carradice Bagman Expedition is a support that mounts beneath the saddle to keep the bag more stable, reduce movement, and help support the load when the road gets rough or the ride gets long.

Expedition is the larger model in the Bagman range and is designed for Carradice’s larger saddlebags. Carradice particularly recommends it for bags over 18 litres, such as the Camper Longflap, Nelson, Nelson Longflap, Odyssey, and Super C. Compared with the Bagman Sport, it provides more clearance beneath the saddle and better support for deeper bags. The maximum load is 10 kg.

This is the Standard version. The support clamps onto the saddle rails and is intended to remain attached to the bicycle, while the bag is still secured using its standard straps in the saddle’s bag loops. Unlike the Bagman Expedition Quick Release, it has no quick-release mechanism for the bag. Standard is therefore the right version if the bag usually stays on the bicycle and you primarily want stable support beneath it.

The Bagman Expedition requires sufficient space between the saddle and the rear wheel or mudguard. The support measures 18 cm in width, 20 cm in height, and 17.5 cm in depth, so check the available space before ordering. It is not compatible with sprung saddles such as the Brooks Flyer and B67 and must not be used with carbon saddles. If you have a larger Carradice bag and want to carry it securely without a traditional rear rack, the Expedition is the model to choose over the smaller Bagman Sport.
