Carradice Kendal is a pair of traditional touring bags for those who want to carry a substantial load on the rack without stepping up to the largest long-distance models. The total volume of 32 liters – 16 liters per bag – provides space for a change of clothes, rain gear, provisions, and other packing for bike trips, daily commuting, and errands. The straight shape makes the space easy to use and gives the bags the classic look that belongs on a well-thought-out touring bike.
The bags are sewn from sturdy 18 oz waxed cotton fabric with self-sealing seams. The material keeps out the weather, can be rewaxed when protection needs renewing, and can be repaired instead of discarded. Field Green is combined with burgundy leather details, brown straps, and metal buckles – materials and colors that give Kendal a genuine Carradice expression and become more personal as the bags show signs of use.
Each bag has a spacious main compartment gathered with a drawstring under the large flap. The separate outer pocket keeps tools, snacks, and other small items easily accessible without needing to open the entire load. Inside, the green cotton fabric meets Carradice’s characteristic checkered lining, while the carrying handle makes the bag easy to take along when you leave the bike. D-rings are available for those who want to add a shoulder strap.
Carradice’s Quick-Clip system lets you click each bag on or off in seconds. The upper hooks fit rack tubes up to 13 mm in diameter, while the lower support rail helps keep the bag stable against the rack while cycling. The system provides the convenience expected from a modern pannier without changing Kendal’s traditional construction and style.

Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
