The Carradice Lowsaddle Longflap is designed for bikes with smaller frames or lower saddle heights, where a traditional large saddlebag risks being too close to the rear wheel. The lower shape provides better clearance under the saddle without sacrificing much packing capacity, making the bag a thoughtful choice for touring, bikepacking, and longer day rides.
With a volume of 15 liters, it holds a change of clothes, rain gear, food, tools, and other equipment for longer days or lighter multi-day trips. The extendable Longflap lid allows the bag to be loaded higher as your gear grows and also provides the option to strap on an extra layer of clothing on the outside.
The bag is sewn from sturdy 18 oz waxed cotton canvas with self-sealing seams. The material offers reliable weather protection, can be rewaxed when needed, and is made for many years of use. Field Green is combined with burgundy leather details, brown straps, and metal buckles – the familiar Carradice look that suits touring bikes, gravel builds, and other bikes where the luggage is meant to be a visible part of the whole.
The Lowsaddle Longflap attaches to the saddle’s bag loops and can be combined with a Carradice Bagman rack for better support and stability when carrying heavier loads or riding on rough roads. The bag measures 36 × 19 × 19 cm, can expand to 44 cm in height, and weighs about 900 grams. Still, check the clearance between the saddle and rear wheel before ordering, as space varies between different frame sizes, wheel sizes, and saddle positions.
Made in Nelson, Lancashire, for cyclists who need a spacious saddlebag but have less space under the saddle than Carradice’s taller models require.

Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
