Cinelli Wave is an EVA-based bar tape with a brushed surface for those who want a secure, confident grip without making the handlebars unnecessarily thick. The surface texture provides good control in both dry conditions and when your hands or handlebars get wet, while the 2.5 mm EVA provides just the right amount of cushioning for road, gravel, and other drop-bar cycling.
The brushed surface is inspired by grip surfaces on competition windsurfing booms and developed to improve grip and feel without compromising the material's durability. The result is a relatively simple, minimalist bar tape where grip takes center stage rather than maximum shock absorption.
Wave is made in Italy from Italian materials and comes in several colors with a distinct 1980s feel - a detail that suits Cinelli quite well. Each roll is 1800 mm long, and the package includes bar tape for a complete handlebar, bar plugs, and finishing tape.
