Dia-Compe Brake Axle Nut
Available in stock (6)
Dia-Compe Brake Axle Nut is a brake nut for installing rim brakes where the brake caliper axle passes through the fork or frame and is tightened from the back. It is available in several lengths because the clearance through the fork crown and brake bridge varies between different bicycles.
The nut supplied with the brake does not always have the correct length for your particular frame or fork. As a general guideline, a steel fork will often work with a 13 mm nut, while carbon forks usually need at least 20 mm. For the rear brake, 10 mm is common. However, there is no fixed standard among frame, fork, and brake manufacturers, so always check which length your build actually requires before ordering.
The nut has a 6 mm diameter and is available in lengths of 10, 13, 20, and 28 mm. Choose a length that reaches the brake axle securely without bottoming out before the brake is properly tightened.

Build your custom dream bicycle with us
Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
