Dia-Compe IB-1 is an integrated 1 1/8-inch headset for frames built to the IS42 standard. IS42 means that the frame has integrated bearing seats with an internal diameter of approximately 42 mm, where the bearings sit directly in the frame’s head tube without separate press-fit bearing cups.
The headset uses sealed 45/45-degree ACB cartridge bearings measuring 41.8 x 30.5 x 8 mm. The crown race is made of 7075 aluminum, and the split compression ring simplifies installation and helps the headset center correctly around the steerer tube.
The top cap is CNC-machined from aluminum and has a height of 8.3 mm. The IB-1 is also gyro-compatible and available in several anodized colors for those who want the headset to be part of the bike’s overall look.
Always check the frame’s headset standard before buying. The fact that a headset is 1 1/8 inches does not automatically mean it will fit. For the IB-1, the frame must be built for IS42, meaning an integrated headset with an approximately 42 mm bearing seat and a 41.8 mm bearing with a 45/45-degree contact surface.

Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.

After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
