The Dia-Compe SS6 are powerful brake levers for flat handlebars, designed for caliper, center pull, and cantilever brakes. They work especially well on single speed, touring, city, and vintage mountain bikes where you want to combine good braking feel with a simple, classic look.
The levers have a cast aluminum bracket and cold-forged aluminum brake levers. Reach can be adjusted with a 2 mm hex key, allowing you to tailor the distance to the handle to your hands and riding position. A return spring helps the brake lever spring back and provides a crisp feel. We especially like the SS6 with compressionless brake cable housing when you want to get the most out of a traditional rim brake system.
The SS6 has a 22.2 mm clamp diameter for standard MTB and city handlebars and is sold as a pair. They use short cable pull, so they are not compatible with standard V-brakes, which require more cable pull. A great choice when you want to upgrade the brakes on a bike with traditional rim brakes without changing the bike's character.
