The Genesis Croix de Fer 725 is a frame set for those who want to build a bike that can start as a fast gravel bike, add fenders and racks for everyday use, and later be loaded for multi-day trips. It is a true workhorse made from Reynolds 725 steel, but with modern standards and geometry that feels at home on both asphalt and gravel.
The heat-treated steel frame gives the Croix de Fer the smooth, compliant feel that has made the model a long-standing favorite for gravel, touring, and commuting builds. The dropped seat stays contribute to comfort over rough terrain, while 12 mm thru-axles and flat mount brake mounts make it easy to build with modern gravel components. The frame set works with both 1x and 2x drivetrains, and the internal cable routing keeps the build clean without locking you into a specific type of shifting system.
With room for 700c tires up to 47 mm, you can choose anything from fast-rolling tires for mixed road use to a wider gravel setup with more grip and comfort. Mounts for full-coverage fenders, racks, frame bags, and multiple bottle cages make it possible to build the bike according to how you actually plan to use it. The extra mounting points on the fork blades also provide space for bottles or cargo when the trip gets longer.
Massive Li-Lac is not a color that tries to blend in. The blue-purple paint is combined with black graphics and lets the frame’s relatively clean lines speak for themselves—distinct enough for a personal custom build without dictating which components or style the rest of the bike must have.
The Croix de Fer 725 is the right foundation for those who want more cargo capacity and long-term usability than a pure gravel racing frame, but a more agile and modern bike than a traditional touring build. Compared to the more expensive Croix de Fer framesets in stainless steel or titanium, you get the same core idea and practical versatility in a proven Reynolds 725 construction—and can spend more of your budget on wheels, drivetrain, and the parts that make the bike truly yours.

Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
