René Herse 700C x 38 Steilacoom TC Standard
Out of stock
René Herse Steilacoom 700x38C is a fast, aggressively treaded tire for cyclocross, gravel, and mixed surfaces. It is particularly at home in mud, loose gravel, and snow, but unlike many traditional cross tires, it is designed to still roll quickly and feel stable on asphalt.
Steilacoom’s tread is designed so that the tire is always resting on roughly the same amount of rubber, both when you are riding straight and when you lean the bike through a corner. The result is even and predictable grip without the nervous transition that some aggressively treaded tires can have between the center and side knobs. This makes Steilacoom a good option when the surface varies considerably during the same ride.
The Standard casing is René Herse’s most affordable construction and combines the supple feel the brand is known for with good durability for regular use. The tire is 38-622, Tubeless Compatible, and made in Japan with tan sidewalls. A good choice if you are looking for a fast 700x38 gravel or cyclocross tire but need significantly more grip than a slick or semislick can provide.
