The Restrap Tyre Boot Kit is a wonderful little thing to bring on bikepacking, touring, and longer gravel rides. If the tyre gets a larger tear in the tread or sidewall, a regular inner tube patch may not be strong enough – that’s when a tyre boot works as a reinforcing layer on the inside of the tyre and can make the difference between riding on and being stranded far from home.
The kit contains eight thin, durable, tear-resistant Hypalon patches in various sizes for different types of tyre damage. Glue is included for more troublesome tears, and everything is held together with a small Velcro strap. The patches can be used on both standard clincher tyres with inner tubes and tubeless tyres.
Small, lightweight, and easy to forget about until you really need it. The Restrap Tyre Boot Kit should be on most packing lists for bikepacking and longer cycling trips.
