The Reverse HG Single Speed Kit is an easy way to convert a standard wheel with a Shimano HG freehub body to single speed. The kit includes a 13T steel sprocket, a lockring and seven spacers, allowing you to position the sprocket correctly on the freehub body and achieve a straight chainline.
What sets Reverse Components apart from simpler single speed sprockets is the extra-wide 7 mm flange. It gives the sprocket a larger contact area against the freehub body and reduces the risk of it digging into softer aluminum freehub bodies under heavy loads. The spacers - two 10 mm, one 5 mm and four 3 mm - offer plenty of scope for fine-tuning the chainline.
The 13T sprocket is made of steel, with 1.8 mm thick teeth, and is compatible with 1- to 11-speed chains in 1/8 or 3/32 inch. A good single speed conversion kit if you already have a wheel with a Shimano HG body and want to convert your bike without changing the rear hub. Tip! The Gusset Double Six sprocket we sell works with this kit if, for example, you want a different gear ratio.
