Tom Ritchey rides about 10,000 miles (16,000 km) a year, mostly on rough terrain. Combine that with more than 50 years of experience designing and building bikes, and it’s no wonder the Outback has become an icon in the gritty world of gravel and adventure cycling.
The Outback has several practical, adaptable features that let riders find epic experiences beyond the road. Rack and fender mounts help keep your gear dry and increase carrying capacity for longer bikepacking adventures, while clearance for 700c x 48mm or 650b x 2.0" tires opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Doubling down on the Outback’s practical performance, a full-carbon Ritchey Adventure Fork with multi-purpose mounts on the fork legs gives you more places to store the supplies you pick up at the last café.
The Outback is painstakingly TIG-welded from proprietary, triple-butted Ritchey Logic steel and now features an updated flat-mount design, delivering as much stiffness and strength as the previous mount while significantly reducing chainstay weight.
