Runwell GAUGE42A is a compact aluminum tool for checking the chainline on NJS track bikes. It helps you check the distance between the center of the seat tube and the center of the chainring, with a reference for a 42 ± 2 mm chainline.
The machined contact surface helps keep the tool perpendicular to the seat tube. Align one of the markings with the center of the tube and check that the center of the chain falls between the two outer markings. The tool is intended for NJS geometry; other bottom bracket shell widths and rear hubs may require a different measuring method. Work carefully so that the edges do not scratch the frame.
