Shimano SM-CS50 Cable Stops for Steel Frames
Available in stock
Shimano SM-CS50 is a pair of cable stops for older racing, randonneur, and touring frames with brazed-on downtube shifter bosses. They replace traditional downtube shifters and make it possible to route the cables onward to, for example, modern integrated brake and shift levers, thumb shifters, or bar-end shifters.
The cable stops mount directly to the frame's existing bosses and have integrated adjuster screws for fine-tuning the shifting. A small but important component when restomodding an older steel frame where you want to keep the frame but use a more modern mechanical drivetrain. Brother Cycles Mr Wooden is a modern example of a frame that uses the same type of bosses.
SM-CS50 is sold as a pair and comes complete with screws. We generally have significantly more Shimano small parts in the workshop than on the website, but we have chosen to stock these in particular because we believe they are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
