The Nouveau Randonneur has a comfortable fit with a shallow drop and a slight backward sweep, optimally designed for long days and nights for cyclists using integrated shifters and aerodynamic brake levers.
The top of the handlebar is ovalized and sweeps back slightly from the stem clamp. This provides a larger surface for your hands to rest on. A wider top for the palms means that vibrations and shocks from the road are better distributed and not concentrated in one specific spot, effectively reducing fatigue in the hands, wrists, and elbows. Additionally, the sweeping shape is better suited (than a straight top) for the natural resting position of the hands.
*Please note that inline controls cannot be installed on this handlebar due to the ergonomic profile.
The ramps are 105 mm long (measured from the middle of the bend to the edge of the ramp). This provides enough space for a full hand behind the controls for cruising, but is short enough to easily reach the controls for shifting, braking, and hard pedaling out of the saddle. When measured traditionally (from the middle of the stem clamp to the outer edge of the brake lever hood), the reach is 85 mm. The 128 mm drop is relaxed, and the 12-degree flare offers excellent stability in corners and prevents your forearms from hitting the handlebar during powerful efforts or when navigating obstacles.
