René Herse combines the classic French randonneur heritage with modern research on rolling resistance and comfort.

The brand is now owned by Jan Heine, who through thorough testing has shown that wide, soft tyres are often faster than narrow and hard ones. The tyres are made in Japan by Panaracer and are known for their extremely supple casings – from the sturdy Standard to the feather-light Extralight. This design allows the tyre to absorb unevenness instead of vibrating, which saves energy for the cyclist. The higher price level reflects the use of high-quality natural rubber and technical weaves optimized for a smoother ride and lower rolling resistance.
