Dia-Compe GC08H Brown – classic aero brake levers for the right kind of build
Dia-Compe GC08H brake levers are for those building a bike where the whole matters. They are especially suitable for drop bars with friction shifters, bar-end shifters, single speed, or other builds where you want separate brake levers instead of modern STI levers.
The Brown version gives a warmer and more classic look than black, especially combined with brown bar tape, silver components, or a more vintage-inspired cockpit. It’s a small detail, but on the right bike, it makes a big difference.
“Aero” here means that the brake cable is routed internally through the lever and then under the bar tape. The result is a cleaner cockpit than with older brake levers where the cable exits from the top of the lever.
We use the GC08H ourselves on builds where we want simple, stylish, and functional brake levers with the right feel. The ergonomic shape fits naturally in the hand, and the levers do the job without overpowering the bike’s expression.
Choose Dia-Compe GC08H Brown if you’re building a single speed, fixed gear, touring bike, or road bike with friction shifting and want a pair of brake levers that both work well and look right. Sold, of course, in pairs.

Build your custom dream bicycle with us
Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
