Surly Moloko Bar 735 mm, 31.8 mm
Out of stock
The Surly Moloko Bar is a touring and bikepacking handlebar for those who want to change hand positions during long days without converting the bike to drop bars. It maintains compatibility with standard flatbar controls but offers significantly more hand positions than a traditional MTB handlebar.
The large front loop provides alternative grips and practical space for GPS devices, lights, bags, and other cockpit equipment. The outer grips have a 34-degree backsweep, offering a more relaxed angle for hands and wrists, while the front section allows you to stretch out your body and vary the load as the road continues hour after hour.
The handlebar is 735 mm wide and can be symmetrically cut down to 685 mm. The clamp diameter at the stem is 31.8 mm, and the grip areas have the standard diameter of 22.2 mm for common MTB brake and shift levers. The CrMo steel construction makes the Moloko heavier than a typical aluminum handlebar but also a handlebar that clearly prioritizes durability, load capacity, and long-term use over low weight.
The Surly Moloko Bar is best suited for touring bikes, bikepacking builds, and other flatbar bikes where comfort and multiple hand positions are more important than a clean, minimalist handlebar. It’s the right choice if you want more variation and mounting space without switching to drop bars and new controls. The handlebar should not be combined with extra bar ends or aerobars and is not intended for installation in a carbon fiber stem.
A sturdy steel handlebar built to take a beating.

Build your custom dream bicycle with us
Consultation meeting
At the first step in the process, we would like to discuss with you what kind of bicycle you are looking for, and what budget you have. It is best if we arrange a meeting for this, either in the shop or online.
Quote
After a paid deposit or purchase of a frame set, we send you a detailed quote. At this stage, there is still every opportunity to adjust the choice of parts.
The bicycle is assembled
Now things are starting to happen! The quote is finalized. We order components and put everything together ahead of the build. Depending on your choice of parts, it takes different amounts of time to assemble the bike, but two weeks from approved quote is usually enough.
The bicycle is ready for delivery
You are welcome to collect your custom bicycle. We also offer shipping to all corners of the world. From our initial meeting, we have taken your measurements so that you sit correctly on the bicycle. Before handing it over, we make small adjustments together with you and, if desired, go through how to adjust and take care of the bicycle. Happy riding! =)
