Genesis Bikes has a simple approach: they only make bikes they love themselves. What started as a popular model series at British Ridgeback was spun off as its own brand in 2006 and has since grown to define the adventure bikes category. Genesis may not be the biggest brand in the industry, but that’s exactly what allows them to focus on niches that the big giants often miss.

Croix de Fer – An iconic world record holder

The most famous in the range is the legendary Croix de Fer. It was on exactly such a bike that Vin Cox set the world record for the fastest cycling around the world in 2010. This proved once and for all that Genesis’s combination of classic Reynolds steel and modern function is nearly unbeatable. Today, Croix de Fer is synonymous with versatility – a bike that feels just as at home on the daily commute as on a muddy gravel adventure or a month-long touring trip.

Most Genesis models are designed to be extremely versatile. By using high-quality steel (such as Reynolds 725 or their own Mjolnir steel), you get a "living" frame with natural vibration damping that aluminum and carbon fiber struggle to match.

Important to note: Since Genesis is a British brand, the bikes are delivered as standard with their brake configuration: the front brake is controlled with the right lever and the rear brake with the left. Talk to us in the store if you want them switched to Swedish standard upon delivery.
